A One Day Offline Capacity Building Program on Life Skills (Basic) was organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education on March 14, 2026 at St. Aloysius Senior Secondary School, Cantt, Jabalpur. The program was conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and was attended by the teachers. The resource persons for the seminar were Mr. Aashish Tiwari, Principal of Podar International School, Jabalpur and Mrs. Krishna Nyogi, Principal of Nachiketa Higher Secondary School, Jabalpur. The session focused on the meaning, importance and need of life skills. Life skills help individuals deal effectively with the challenges of daily life and include skills such as decision-making, communication, critical thinking, and emotional management. The speakers highlighted the importance of developing these skills for the overall growth and confidence of students. The seminar was very informative and interactive with active participation from the teachers. The program provided useful insights on how life skills can be incorporated into classroom teaching for the holistic development of students.
A staff orientation session on Psychosocial Skills and Mental Health was conducted by Dr. Ratnesh Kurariya for the teaching staff of St. Aloysius Senior Secondary School, Cantt. The session aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of psychosocial well-being and equip them with practical strategies to foster a positive and emotionally supportive learning environment. The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the resource person by the Principal, Fr. V. V. Davies, who presented Dr. Ratnesh Kurariya with a sapling as a token of gratitude and appreciation. The gesture symbolized the school’s commitment to nurturing growth, well-being, and sustainability. During the session, Dr. Kurariya emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, emotional resilience, stress management, empathy, effective communication, and positive teacher-student relationships. He highlighted the crucial role of educators in identifying emotional and behavioural concerns among students and creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom atmosphere. Practical techniques for managing stress, maintaining work-life balance, and promoting psychological well-being were also shared. The session was highly interactive, with teachers actively participating in discussions and reflecting on real-life classroom situations. The practical insights and strategies provided by Dr. Kurariya were well appreciated by the staff and are expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the school’s psychosocial support system. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Staff Secretary, Mrs. Vinita Maheshwari, who expressed sincere gratitude to Dr. Ratnesh Kurariya for his enlightening and inspiring session. She also thanked the Principal, Fr. V. V. A seminar on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was conducted for the teaching staff of St. Aloysius Senior Secondary School, Cantt. The session was led by Advocate Suyash Thakur, who provided valuable insights into the legal provisions of the POCSO Act and the responsibilities of educators in ensuring the safety and protection of children.
